Fed: Child care flying squads now available, Newman

CANBERRA, Jan 10 AAP - Parents in bush communities can now call on child care flying
squads for flexible child minding services and help direct to the family home, the federal
government said today.

Family and Community Services Minister Jocelyn Newman said the service, flagged in
the federal budget, would provide more than 7,700 places over the next four years at a
cost of almost $50 million.

"There has already been wide interest from providers who have applied for funding to
provide the service," Senator Newman said.
